This plan has been very popular in recent years because: In most states, the monthly premium was $0. Most preferred generic medications had a $0 copay. What’s Changing in 2026? Wellcare has mailed letters letting members know that monthly premiums will increase in 2026. In most states, the premium will rise to somewhere between $3.60 and $8.60 per month. What Does This Mean for You? If your medications have stayed about the same, are still covered under the Wellcare plan and you have not started any new expensive brand-name medications, we recommend you stay enrolled in your Wellcare Value Script plan. Even with the new premium, this plan will still be your best overall value in 2026. However, if you have started one or more new brand-name prescriptions that are not part of your current plan, or if Wellcare is no longer covering a medication you take, then you should consider other options. In those situations, we recommend requesting a new drug plan report. Automatic Renewal If you are satisfied with your current coverage, you do not need to take any action. Your Wellcare Value Script plan will automatically renew for 2026. Premium Payment When you first enrolled in this plan at a $0 premium, you selected a premium payment method in case a premium was ever added. The choice you selected at that time will now apply effective January 1, 2026. You selected one of hte following three options: Premium to be deducted from your checking account. Premium deducted from your Social Security check. Premiumt o be paid with a coupon book which they will send you.
